Octoodyssey is now well into Argentina, and we have noticed some different things. When we crossed the border, the fields were all fenced; often, there were eight large garbage containers just off the road, and people were leaving their garbage in the containers rather than in the ditch; hence, Argentina is a much cleaner country. We went through several police stops, maybe not as many as in Mexico, but close. I did notice that many policewomen were very attractive. Horses were now visible in the fields. We had not seen many over the last few months. Every place sells wine, as Argentina is maybe the fifth largest wine producer, but very little is exported.
Restaurants are attractive and more European. Today, we are in a wealthy suburb of Salta where the homes are large, and the strip malls are well-designed.
Yesterday’s ride was on a mountainous road that was only four meters wide. It was like riding on a German bike path through densely forested mountains with very little traffic, a great scenic place to hang out.
