Here I am 20% through my Octogenarian Odyssey and feeling fine. I think it is time to talk about all of my fabulous sponsors.

If you or your company would like to be involved with my 13,500 km journey through nine countries please email me at rdf3636@gmail.com and we can talk about how we can assist each other in reaching our goals.

Airbnb

This remarkable company has generously provided accommodation for over 40% of the journey. Right now, as I write this, we are staying in a lovely house in Prince Geoge, British Columbia, that we have all to ourselves. Yesterday we enjoyed our happy hour on the front yard patio.

One of the reasons I was so happy to partner with Airbnb was I would have a better chance of meeting local people by living in their communities.

Yesterday while walking around the neighborhood, I stopped to chat with May; she has lived in her house for 47 years and just celebrated her 55 th anniversary. We talked about life in Prince George and my trip. Then Lisa came by and joined the conversation. Lisa operates a different Airbnb, so we chatted about some of the interesting people she has hosted.

This was our first Airbnb, and we look forward to staying in many more and meeting more interesting people.

Evelo Bikes

When this company approached us with their sponsorship package, I knew they would be an excellent company to have as a partner.

The bike had everything I was looking for, a mid-drive motor, looked like a regular bike, quality components, class 3, which means no throttle, and a dual battery system. My study showed that they have a lot of satisfied customers, and their four-year 20,000 miles, no-question warranty says a lot about their service and product.

After riding my Evelo Atlas for over 2700 km, I believe it is an excellent touring bike. Hills have not been a problem. The others are taking the stairs while I use the escalator. With the two batteries and a solid rack for your panniers, it has all you need for an enjoyable journey using your credit card and staying in Airbnb locations.

Seam Rourke

Senior Portfolio Manager | Senior Investment Advisor, Wealth Management Nesbitt Burns, Edmonton.

Sean has been managing my investments for 40 years. Without him and his team, I would not have the finances to carry out such an undertaking.

Thanks, Sean, for believing in me.

If you need or want to change your financial advisor, I highly recommend Sean and his team. Give him a call at his Edmonton office.

Skydio Drones

Having one of their drones with us on this trip has added to the quality of the photographs we can take. It is an incredible machine. Thank you Skydio for this drone.

Swagman Racks

Their racks have made the journey so much easier. Their ebike carrier is solid and sturdy. I had no problem carrying two ebikes on their rack. Their roof rack has come in handy on two occasions. Kate hurt her back and could not ride, so we put her bike up top for three days. Wayne’s knees hurt him, so his bike went up top for a day. The cargo carrier is so essential to the support crew. We carry so much in it that it saves us space in the van and trailer.
