Where one chooses to stay in a large city will undoubtedly affect how you enjoy your stay. We are staying in the district of Miraflores in Lima. It is undoubtedly one of the high-end districts that borders the beautiful Malecon that runs along the cliff top high above the beaches and the Pacific Ocean.

Yesterday was spent shopping and exploring the area on foot. One of the highlights was a shopping mall perched on the cliff over the ocean. It might be the most spectacular mall I have been to.

The ride into Lima was on a road with heavy traffic and no shoulder, so we loaded and drove 20k past oil refineries and a large port area. The last 18k was then on a bike path along the ocean.
