Octoodyssey is in La Paz, Bolivia after a short flat ride into the town. La Paz is a large city in a valley surrounded by high snow-covered mountains. Our hotel is excellent in a high-end district. Bernice took a walking tour and a gondola while Johana and I worked on future hotels and planned how we would ride one of the wonders of the world, the Bolivian Salt Lake next week.
The god of road warriors is still angry with me. Today he tried to end the Odyssey for the second time.
As I was walking to lunch with Johana on a downhill sidewalk, all of a sudden my feet flew out from under me and I landed extremely hard on my right elbow and wrist. Yes, the wrist I hurt a while back. I lay there stunned for a few moments trying to find out what might be broken. I was lucky I only have a large bump on my elbow but everything works. What happened was someone had spilled a bag of rice on the sidewalk and when I stepped on it it was like stepping on marbles. Crash.
Here are some photos of the ride and a museum where we had a brief stop as busloads of students from La Paz were arriving.
