Wow!! What an amazing adventure and of course Guinness world record. I read your book with keen anticipation of what the next day will bring. Spectacular vistas, food, culture and incredibly interesting and helpful people. Close calls with trucks and other vehicles and riding through dark tunnels kept me alert. Added to this high level of excitement were the obstacles of time, hills, nasty weather, flat tires, horse flies, mosquitoes, noseeums, and border crossings. You aptly described how complex and complicated communication and relationships can become at times, and yet you persevered and overcame all of these hurdles. Kudos to you and all of the members of your highly dedicated and supportive team. Yes, it is truly inspiring and I am now getting off the couch to go on a bike ride.

Robert, I really enjoyed reading your book, as an octogenarian rider myself, (84) I can hardly comprehend just how much effort the whole project must have been. Some of the riding you describe, particularly the distances covered and the vertical feet climbed in a day are way beyond the norm no matter what your age is. Currently, I ride a Rize RX mid-drive, without a doubt the electric assist is amazing for hills or adverse winds and it certainly allows me to ride faster and further than would be the case unpowered. However I sometimes wonder whether all the extra weight is worth the effort when regular road bikes speed past me on the flat. How were you able to always have charged batteries available, did you have a portable generator in the van? With two bikes in use and two batteries per bike, did you have provision to charge two or more at a time? Typically how long did charging take per battery? During a long day distance or mountain wise, did you ever need more than two batteries? Thanks again for the book, you are definitely an inspiration to many of us, an amazing effort.

I supported Bob on his Odyssey from Alaska to Panama, and received his book. Being a cyclist, enjoy hearing about other rides. This book details Bob’s ride, which ended up being a world record ride. The ups and downs are covers. Many photos during the journey. It was like I was partnof his journey. It is encouraging to read about someone that refuses to just retire and not be active. I encourage anyone, a bike rider or not, to read his story and just get off the sofa.

I really enjoyed this book. Reading it I felt like I was traveling along with Bob through the many ups and downs (both figuratively and literally) of his five month epic journey. I loved the descriptions of the scenery and the stories of his encounters with people along the way. There are places he described that I would love to visit one day. It is a one-of-a-kind story about a one-of-a-kind experience by a one-of-a-kind individual.
