Google Bike Track did it again. You would think I would learn, but for a few days, it has produced good riding on country roads. Yesterday, it started with a good route past olive groves, fruit orchards, and small towns. We got in 60k when, all of a sudden, we arrived on a gravel road. After talking with the locals, we faced about 60k of rough roads through the coastal mountains with no services before we reached the ocean.
We loaded the bikes, turned around, and returned to some pavement. Even that pavement did not last. Slowly, very slowly, we made our way to the Pacific Ocean.
Last night, we had warm coastal cabins, and Donna and Laura cooked a fantastic pasta and salad dinner.
