Yesterday, we arrived in Los Andres, Chile, after a fantastic downhill, customs, and a long tunnel where the police don’t permit cyclists or people to walk. I am not sure what bikepackers do other than beg people for a ride through the tunnel.
Customs took a long time, as usual, but this time, we had to fill out the same form that we filled out for the van for our bikes. The staff at customs were amiable, and we took photos of them wishing us safe and happy travels.
Today, we will arrive in Santiago, our last remaining large city. We need to repair a bike as the motor keeps cutting out due to a faulty speed sensor. I just opened the mail to find that the house we booked had a gas leak, and they may be unable to accommodate us for the three nights. Fun, fun, fun.
