After 1774k and 26000m, we finally met three road warriors in the last two days. I want to introduce them to you as they are remarkable young people. John One is Colombiano from Cali, who has been living on his bike for the last six years. On this trip, he started in Rio de Janeiro and cycled across Brazil to Cartagena, and is now cycling back. He is 30 and sells jewelry to pay for his nomad life. He did not have much, as all his gear was stolen in Cartagena.
John Two is 50 years old and from Sweden. He started his trip from Montana and is heading to Ushuaia, Argentina. He has cycled across the USA on a previous trip and in Europe. He is riding a Surly frame, which he added to his selection of components—a very nice setup for the mountains of Colombia.
David and Ana Paula are from Mexico, traveling with zero money other than what they raise, selling rocks with positive vibrations and some Sharpie pictures. Ana is only 24, and both have graduated from university. They have large backpacks and camping gear, and they walk and hitch rides. They had a five-hour nighttime ride on the back of a semi-trailer. What an adventure
