Dear Friends:
In this email, I want to update you on what has happened, what will happen, and when.
First, it is official: Guinness World Records declared that I am the World Record holder for the longest journey on an electric bike. The official distance is 14,274.4 km. That is the distance I rode from North Pole, Alaska, to Panama City, Panama.
Second, my book has finally made its way to the publisher and is now in the proofreading and formatting stage and should be available around the first of July.
Third, I will depart for Panama City, Panama, on June 4th. There I will have the van inspected and export documents approved on the eight and 9th. Then I turn the van over to the shipping company to place it and its cargo, bicycles, in a container and ship it to Cartagena, Colombia, where I should be reunited with the van on June 22nd. I will fly to Cartagena on June 15th and wait for the ship to arrive. Gloria and Johana will arrive on the 21st. I will have about ten days of sightseeing and training before my two friends show up on July first. They will ride with me through Colombia to Quito starting July 4/23.
The odyssey will take over five months, and our little caravan should arrive in Ushuaia around mid-December.
Thank you, everyone, for your support and encouragement over the last year; I truly appreciate it.
Yours Truly
Bob Fletcher
