I arrived in Palma de Mallorca and spent two nights in a hotel across the street from the beach. The beach is vast, long, and clean. The water is turquoise, green and blue, and warm. This area is a significant tourist destination, and one of the main euro generator on the island are cyclists.
There are plenty of places to rent bikes. I chose a spot on the internet that rented ebikes to my specs. I ended up with a German-made bike by Stevens. I rented panniers and a helmet.
The first day I headed along the coast to check out as many beaches as I could. The out and back trip went past numerous beaches with plenty of tourists enjoying the sun.
The route that I followed was almost 95% on bike paths. Within the city, the bike path was congested with scooters and bikes, so I had to be careful when passing. Once I got out of town, the way became very wide, almost like a road. They were well maintained, and after a few wrong turns, I figured out their system.
After lunch on one of the beaches, I headed back to town and swam in the Mediterranean.
