Today we went in the van to clear Quito, because we had a dangerous tunnel and did not want to do that. We went to a place for breakfast and to start a short uphill ride. We rode about 30k to the summit. It was the highest point for the Octoodyssey at 4040 m (13250ft) Total climb was about 1650m. The climb started ok then we got a few drops of rain. Before we knew it the temperature dropped to 6c and the winds picked up to such a high degree they forced me to stop. We dawned more clothing but still, it was so cold. When we reached the top we were frozen. I am not warmed up yet. At the top, we got in the van for the long, foggy, cloudy, cold downhill. It was a miserable ride.
